Religious Education

Our Sunday religious education program provides children with an opportunity to:

  • Learn more about Unitarian Universalism and world religions

  • Be part of a broader community

  • Develop skills needed to consider the big questions in life

Religious education (RE) at First Parish of Norwell rotates through three themes, World Religions, Judeo-Christian, and Unitarian Universalism.

  • The RE program focuses on UU principles and sources, with an emphasis on embracing diversity and social action.

  • Children will have opportunities to consider their own thoughts and ideas while working in a larger community grounded in love, respect, wonder, and hope.

  • Programs are offered for the following:

    • Grades: K-3

    • Grades: 4-7

    • Grades: 8-10

What else should I know?

Is there a dress code?

We want you to feel comfortable. Whether that means jeans and a t-shirt, business casual, or suit and tie, as long as you are actually wearing clothes, you will fit right in.

Will I have to say anything or be singled out in any way?

You can breathe easy, the answer is no! Your level of engagement is completely up to you. But if and when you're ready to take a step, we'll be ready. There's a Connect Card that you can choose to fill out in case you have questions, need prayer, are interested in getting baptized, or if you'd like to be in the know for church-wide events and activities.

Can I Become A Member Immediately?

We have no creedal test for membership, believing that all persons should be free to define their own sense of religious reality.

To request a Membership Information Packet, ask a question, or send a comment. Visit our Become A Member Page for more information or send us an email
